Short Kokoda Treks

We’ve created a selection of shorter treks perfect for those who are short on time or prefer a gentler adventure. Each trek is one night and can be customised to match your preferences.

Option 1: Goldie River Camp (Easy). One hour each way. Perfect for beginners and families who wnat the trek experience, without the physicality. Camp by the Goldie River.
Option 2: Waule Camp (Moderate). 5 hour trek each way. This trek includes river crossings, rolling terrain, and historical points along the way.
Option 3: Ioraiwa Ridge Camp (Advanced). 6 hours each way. A challenging climb up the historic Ioribaiwa Ridge, known as the furthest point the Japanese advanced during WWII.
Option 4: Ofi Creek Camp (High Advanced). 7 hours each way. Recommended for very fit trekkers. This long, demanding day covers steep ascents, deep jungle sections, and key wartime sites.

If time allows, we can make an optional stop at the Bomana War Cemetery on the way back. We need a minimum of five people for this trek to go ahead, and you’re welcome to join at any time of the year. For the best experience, though, we recommend trekking between April and October.
