We are using a local operator for our 2026 treks to keep costs down and help ensure the money stays in PNG. Treks can be taken all year round, however the optimum time of year is from April to October. We need a minimum of 2 trekkers to operate a tour.
Trip overview:
Day 1: Arrive Port Moresby, and transfer to your domestic flight to Popondetta*. From there, there will be a 5 hour drive to Kokoda Station. Visit the Kokoda Museum and memorial. Overnight Kokoda
Day 2-7: Involves early starts, steep hills, river crossings and trekking through villages. Tent accommodation.
Day 8; Trek from Goldie River to Owers Corner. Travel by road to Port Moresby, via Bomana War Cemetery, and drop off at hotel for the last night.
Day 9: transfer to the airport for your flight to your next destination.
* If your international flight does not arrive until later in the day, you will need to stay an extra night in Port Moresby pre tour (additional cost applies).
