Walindi Plantation Resort

Walindi Plantation Resort began with a simple discovery. In 1978, after returning from an overseas diving holiday, Max and Cecilie Benjamin realised that the extraordinary marine biodiversity they had travelled to see existed right in their own backyard—Kimbe Bay. Inspired by this, Walindi Plantation Resort opened its doors in 1983 on the shores of the bay. Today, the resort remains proudly family-owned, now spanning three generations.

Over the years, Walindi has grown to offer 20 comfortable accommodation units, a fleet of day-dive boats, and partnerships with two liveaboard dive vessels. Our experiences extend beyond the ocean, offering guests the chance to explore birding hotspots, World War II history, local villages, thermal hot rivers, volcano climbs, as well as exceptional scuba diving and snorkelling. These activities are made possible through long-standing relationships with traditional resource owners throughout the region.

A deep commitment to environmental stewardship has guided the resort from the beginning. Our focus on education, the use of permanent marine moorings, and continuous community consultation form the foundation of our operational ethos—today and for the future. At Walindi Plantation Resort, we strive to protect the rich natural heritage of Kimbe Bay while sharing its beauty with visitors from around the world.
