Walk in History – Trek the Legendary Kokoda Track & Beyond

When you think of trekking adventures in PNG, the Kokoda Track immediately comes to mind; however, there are many other options for trekking, mountain climbing and bushwalking.

From WWII Trails to Towering Peaks

The Kokoda Track was the scene of bitter fighting in 1942 as the Japanese advanced towards Port Moresby. Many Japanese and Australian soldiers died along the Track, both in battle and from malaria. As the interest in Australia’s cultural identity and recent history grows, walking the Kokoda Track has become a rite of passage for a new generation of Australians in order to gain an understanding of what Australian soldiers endured during WWII.

The Black Cat Track, Lark Force Track, The Old Bulldog Trek, Mt Wilhelm, Mt Giluwe, Mt Hagen, the Bismarck and the Kubor Ranges all offer a variety of other trekking and climbing options catering to all levels of fitness.
