A Taste of PNG 1 2015

This tour takes in the Kumul Lodge area in the PNG Highlands and coastal area around Port Moresby, bringing you the highest concentration of species of Birds of Paradise. You will also get to see other specialities, particularly the brighter and more colourful parrots, pigeons and kingfishers.
This tour can be combined with Taste of New Guinea 2 or check with us for other itineraries that can be added. This is a short tour designed for people with limited time who would nevertheless  like a New Guinea experience. It can be run consecutively with other Taste of Tours with a slight modification to allow for a longer more thorough exploration of this fascinating country.

This tour offers a very good chance for at least one member of all three New Guinea endemic bird families.

Participants need to be in good health and have a reasonalbe level of fitness. Although this is a short tour, Papua New Guinea is a country of steep, rainfirest clad mountain sides and, while we try to keep them at a minimum, there can besteep and muddy trails to be negotiated somewhere along the trip. Expect rain somewhere, and while the area around Kumul at 2600m, it will be quite cool and even cold at night. Around Port Moresby it will be hot and humid.
